Hi- I presently have a version up and running and accessable via the internet (thanks! great system), but I'd rather not have it open to anyone who wants to register. Is there a way to admin the site?
Thanks!

Hi mntamimi,
You can accomplish your goal in a number of ways, the simplest would be to change your IIS virtual directory configuration to Windows Integrated Authentication and disable anonymous access (this is done in the Directory Security tab in the Virtual Directory Settings). By doing this, only users with accounts on your server can access the site and subsequently register new accounts.
You could also modify the membershipProvider.config file in the /config/my_settings directory to turn off registrations all together.
I personally run the CMS behind a corporate firewall and don't allow access to it from the internet.

Thanks! Expect the next revision in a few weeks which has a whole host of new administrator features, including the ability to prevent users from creating accounts.

The latest release v2.0.0.0 contains these new admin features. See the wiki for the new System Administration roles and responsibilities in v2.0
